OK, so there might be some differences. We have to stay true to form always! If there’s anything we value though, it sure is consistency, so our THURSty THURSday beer this week is our take on an amber lager. We’re pretty darn proud of it, and we think you’ll like it, too.
“Shake-A-Leg” has a nice floral and orange citrusy aroma, with slight toasty, malty hints as well. You’re likely to pick up on some of those notes in the flavor as well. Instead of brewing a traditional ale as we usually do, we took lager yeast and fermented the beer at a slightly higher temperature than lager yeast are used to. After letting it maturate for a good long time, we’re finally ready to release it into the wild. The orange marmalade and bready flavors mentioned above give way to a crisp finish that’s perfect for a date night, “work” meeting, or an afternoon out with friends.
Just imagine: a cool breeze, a warm sunset, and a slice of pizza from Libretto’s on a relaxing Thursday afternoon. Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? It’s not, though. We wouldn’t do you like that (unless, of course, the weather revolts). Get down here for our release party tomorrow and be the first to try Shake-A-Leg Lager!
Lighthearted Lagerisms: Characteristically, lagers often tend to be clearer and crisper than their ale counterparts. Popular varieties of lagers include: Helles, Dunkels, Pilsners, and Bocks.
