It was a tough choice for this week’s THURSty THURSday selection, but that’s only because we had two great beers to choose from! (Don’t worry, the other one will come out at a later date.) The cooler weather, overcast skies, and general sense of Autumny-ness seemed to nudge us in the right direction.

Folks, this week, we introduce “Dirty Bird,” possibly the most delicious Rum barrel-aged brown ale we’ve tasted. YES, it’s Lazy Bird Brown and YES we used 4-year Muddy River Rum barrels and YES it might sound eerily reminiscent to another beer we produced years ago but, let us assure you: this is different. With notes of oak and coconut, “Dirty Bird” is a deeply layered brew with rum lacing and a slightly barrel-charred quality that lends itself to dark caramel. It’s one seriously good beer, and we’ve got a limited supply so a glass while you can!

What are some other cool things going on this week? So glad you asked! We’ll have our biweekly Go Figure Drawing Session tomorrow night in the private event space at 7pm. Come prepped with art supplies and a thirst for beer, creativity, and fun.

We’ll also have Delirium Trio for some sweet jams this weekend on Sunday at 1pm. These guys are seriously talented and listening to them will be a perfect accompaniment to brunch bites by Sugar Daddy’s food truck.

Did You Know? Like Birdsong, Muddy River Distillery opened in 2011 next to the Catawba River for which their distillery was named.
